Blue Marlin faces trouble with the authorites

Jondal Beach, who are responsible for Blue Marlin said on Thursday that they have filed an appeal in court against the demolition order of an illegal extension to try to prevent it going ahead.

The same spokesman said that these works come "from years ago" and tried to be authenticated by requesting a declaration of interest by the Consell General. "We waited for two years and they did not give us answer," he said. The City Council, however, argues that legalization for the extension was denied.

Moreover, the Governing Board have approved the demolition order of the extension at Blu Marlin in Punta de sa S'Embarcador between Cala Comte Platges Corral, built without permission. The work performed without required authorization has an area of 70 square meters, which is a newly built plant.

Jondal has urged Ibicencas Investments Ltd., which owns the Blue Marlin kiosk, to break the work performed without a license in that establishment at the latest within a month. The file has established that a violation has been committed in serious planning, involving the expansion of the area built on 227 square meters and the construction of a terrace with wooden floors of approximately 670 square meters and the installation within this surface, two pergolas 30 square meters each.

A municipal note reported that this resolution "has been slow to arrive because, when they had started the file, the owning entity requested the declaration of General Interest to the expansion of the area occupied by the activity, which resulted in the paralysis of urban discipline record until it was not resolved. Since the request was denied, and it is an activity located in rural land protected.

They have given a maximum period of one month for the demolition.
