In July 2008, clubbing culture in the UK entered a new era, as a party for likeminded people, united what were once separated cultures and scenes. Gay, Lesbian or straight, black white or brown, GLAS created an experience like no other, an experience for everyone!
Along a back street in Digbeth, Birmingham, a man-made beach beneath an old railway arch, became the home of GLAS and its series of 12-hour, monthly daytime raves. Sundays in the Midlands were no longer a day of rest and fast became the choice day to party! A strong emphasis on the people, atmosphere, and music, saw what began as a 400 capacity shindig, evolve into a party phenomena and the talk about town!
The addition of warehouse, saw one room events become two and it wasn’t long before the local authorities granted permission for the adjacent road to become the centre stage and heart of GLAS’s street carnivals. With multiple arenas, mind blowing production, entertainment and world-class DJ talent, these gala events accommodate over 3000 free spirited ravers, traveling from all over the UK and beyond!
With each party there comes a different theme, flava and style. The Party of Love, Facepaint, Back to the 80’s, SuperPride, Hello Summer, Really Wild, Wig Out, The White Effect, The Monster Bash, New Years Eve Circus and Wicked Wonderland were just a handful of the parties along the way so far. GLAS fever is spreading thicker and faster then ever before.
