If you intend to get a ferry to Ibiza you will need to go via Barcelona or Denia on the east coast of Spain. Three companies operate ferry services in the Balearics - Acciona Trasmediteranea, Iscomar and Balearia. Offering both traditional ferries and high speed catamarans, sailing from Barcelona takes eight hours and just over four hours, respectively. Pricing structures for the ferry to Ibiza is fairly complicated and are based on the time of year, length of stay and the class of travel. It is also worth noting that catamarans only operate in the summer months, April/May to September/October.

These operators can also ferry you to other Balearic islands such as Mallorca and Menorca.
