Es Cana is a compact resort of four to five storey hotel blocks, north east of Santa Eularia.  The resort’s main attraction is its picturesque and sheltered Blue Flag beach surrounded by pine trees.  The resort has been slightly spoilt, however, by the strip of British and Irish pubs, fast food outlets and souvenir shops.

The resort is known on the island for holding the most famous of the Ibizian markets.  The Es Cana Hippie Market takes place from 10am to 6pm every Wednesday from May until October. You will find many stalls selling t-shirts, jewellery and fantastic imported pottery. A fun way to get to the market is by boat from San Antonio which takes you right around the island. If you are travelling by road there are many bus services running to Es Cana from other towns and resorts.

As well as the usual yachts and cruisers you see around Ibiza’s coastline, Es Cana has a thriving little community of fisherman, so expect to see some fishing boats residing in the marina area.

Es Cana is popular with families and makes an ideal holiday for those looking to get away from the busier parts of the island. You can expect to relax without noisy streets of drinkers and there are a number of recommended restaurants.

If you are looking to do some watersports then you are advised to travel to the next beach north, Cala Nova. Es Cana is a shallow beach that is protected by the bay so although ideal for children and swimming, the wind is never strong enough for sports such as windsurfing. Cala Nova is only a few minutes drive away and here you will find plenty of watersports.
