San Rafeal

San Rafel is an attractive village up in the central hills of the island, halfway between Ibiza Town and San Antonio, making it an ideal location for people wanting to travel around the island. Not only are you surrounded by beautiful countryside but you also have some excellent bars, restaurants and nightclubs within close proximity. You will find a good mix of locals and holiday makers throughout the summer months giving the village a cosmopolitan feel.
There is a reasonable collection of shops, cafes and restaurants in the village and there are several ceramic workshops which are worth a look. The nicest part of the village is centred around the church which was built between 1786 and 1797 and is typically Ibizian with its thick white washed walls. The views are impressive here, looking down to Dalt Vila and the sea.
There are a number of villas in the village and the surrounding area that are very popular with groups of people visiting the island. Many of them will have swimming pools so although the village is not right by the sea, there is still usually somewhere you can cool down! In fact, the nearest beaches are easily accessible, being only a 10/15 minutes drive away.
